Guru Purnima is the full Moon
of giving honour to the teachers & elders
who guide us on the path of wisdom.
Guru Purnima is the celebration of the teacher.
This ritual day has been reserved since aeons to give honour not only to the personalities of one’s teachers, but also to the principle of devotion that the teacher represents.
This is a central day of the Tantric Moon calendar, that is all about honouring the teachers and the elders. It is a time of giving back to those who have given to us.
This ritual day deepens our connection to the sacred teachings, by acknowledging the full Moon splendor of all that we have learned and received and thus far in the eternal journey of our soul.
Guru Purnima is the Moon
for remembering the elders
and those that have given to us
the gifts and fruits of their labours.
The very depth of learning is Wisdom.
This is a ritual night for acknowledging the deeper aspects of learning.
The Tantrics strengthen wisdom by giving it acknowledgment and honour.
Uttara Ashada Nakshatra translates as the lunar mansion of mature urge, faith and accomplishment. It is the star constellation of the Guru.
We will be invoking the Astral forces through Tantric Mantric invocation by opening our own astral body to the celestial mirrors of the soul.
The lunar mansion of the Guru brings us to a mature handling of our life force.
This is the lesson of this Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra.

THE HEAVY TEACHING
When the Full Moon is in the lunar mansion of Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra, we come to the time honoured tradition of Guru Purnima.
Upon this day the astral forces are strong for setting the Guru Tatva within us into motion.
The Guru Tatva is the inner quality that we all possess.
The quality of attention to detail and unwavering voyage into the depths of a single subject.
The very depth of wisdom comes from the Guru Tatva. Tatva can be translated as ‘element’.
The Guru Tatva implies ‘weight’ and ‘heaviness’.
The word Guru is often defined in various ways according to modern custom, but the root of the Sanskrit word means ‘heavy’, whereas the word denoting the aspirant – means ‘light’.
A great weight is required to ground wisdom.
To follow the austerity to accomplish any profound skill in a single subject takes weight, and so the Guru represents a weighted immovable force that stands above all else for the depth of the subject presented.
Tantra has as its subject, the sacred heart.
The content of the sacred heart is love.
The Tantric Guru is student and teacher of love
The art of the Guru is often learned and devoted to from early childhood and passed down the ages in unbroken lines.
In India it is said that a true teacher lives for their students, which defines their role as a Guru.
THE RITUAL
This ritual will take place on the full Moon, but will span a Paksha, (period of two weeks) until the Dark Moon.
A potent Tantric-home-ritual-remedy, to acquaint oneself with the wisdom teaching for each Chakra, will be given to participants.
This Nuksha (home remedy) will help keep this ritual opening and deepening, until the time of introverted planting at the vacuumous dark Moon.
There are many types of teachings that we recieve in life, some are sweet and some are bitter.
Sometimes the Guru is an elder or a person of wise council.
Sometimes the Guru comes in the form of a ,fiend’ who strips us painfully to the bone, so a rebirth can ensue without the old faded garments of Karma that we might have been dragging along.
The heavy Guru breaks through the superficial layers.
On this nights ritual, we shall be working with solidity, weight and value.
If something has weight, it has substance, depth and reality.
As we approach the Guru, we gather a deep love for the magical discipline that is proposed.
In the realm of the Guru, discipline turns from laborious interminable tedium into an art of profound and timeless magical devotion.
