Barahi is one of the Sapt Matrika Devis and Carrie’s the Shakti of protective earthly energy.

When we work with her we are brought to look at our vulnerability and how we protect it. She is a Matrika mother gaurdian in an earthy tangible sense.

Barahi it be who gives the feminine Shakti to her masculine counterpart Baraha.

Together they represent the connection between the earth and sexual Chakra.

The story of Baraha using all his strength to protect her honour from sinking is a story of Tantric meditation here.

He stands ever in her honour and protection as she stands ever in our protection and honour for the sacred heart of her children .

All born on earth are her children.

Barahi is the earth mother.

Meditate, if you will, upon what that connection is.

Whatever we plant into the earth is accepted by Barahi.

The earth will turn the seed into fruit and flower, it will even accept poison.

This is the love of Barahi.

There is nothing that her Shakti will refuse to feel and absorb.

Barahi is the earth mother, she is the open receptive cavern that at the same time gives potently.

Her practices are heavy and carry weight, Bhumi Tatva is the heaviest of the 5 Panchbhoot elements.

Her practices are done particularly when we feel heavy.

This Mantra Sadhana for example, is a Tantric practice that literally creates weight and the feeling of that weight by consuming lots of food and feeling the pressure of that food.

She is of the wild boar form. The wild boar is an expert in consuming. It consumes indescribably perhaps.but part of Barahi’s shakti is the force of alchemy to worship and work with all the things that we consume in this multi-faceted existence.

The body may consume food, the mind may consume knowledge and information, but the heart, what does the heart consume.

Of course the heart is the emotional centre that may feel a host of things, but it’s potential is Priya Shakti. The sacred heart consumes not, but receives.

It receives lovingly just as Barahi does.

She is a protectors of the home and heart.

Worshiped when the sun is in the 4th Bhava. This is the time and place of home and the vulnerable heart.

The vulnerable heart may be barricaded in a prison sometimes, but when the heart enters the temple of love, Barahi it be who gives her guardianship.

She is the mother of Alchemy, that just like the Tantric, refuses nothing but rather opens to what is there offered.
